Boka faces Stuttgart absence

VfB Stuttgart will be without left-back Arthur Boka as they attempt to overturn a 2-1 UEFA Cup Round of 32 deficit at home to holders FC Zenit St. Petersburg on Thursday after he tore ligaments in his right knee.

Six-week absence
The 25-year-old was replaced 30 minutes into Saturday's 3-3 Bundesliga draw with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and is set to be sidelined for six weeks. Boka has played 16 matches this season in the Bundesliga and was a 72nd-minute substitute when Stuttgart lost at Zenit last week.

Mattos misses Villarreal trip Saturday 21 February 2009

Panathinaikos FC will be without Marcelo Mattos for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League first knockout round visit to Villarreal CF due to a thigh strain.

Vintra doubt
The Brazilian midfielder was injured during a 2-2 friendly draw against second division Ilysiakos FC last week and will not return until early March. Full-back Loukas Vintra is also a doubt for Wednesday after hurting his calf in training on Friday and he sat out Saturday's 2-1 Greek Super League defeat of Panionios GSS. Defenders Giannis Goumas and Gabriel both returned from injuries for that game, while Christos Melissis was on the bench after recovering from a thigh problem.

Liedson scores twice in Sporting derby win

Sporting Clube de Portugal defeated SL Benfica 3-2 with two goals from Liedson in a thrilling Lisbon derby on Saturday night to join their neighbours within four points of FC Porto.

Early strike
Porto's 2-0 win at FC Paços de Ferreira on Friday had increased the stakes for the Estádio José Alvalade encounter, and Sporting got off to the perfect start with Liedson's eleventh-minute strike but José Antonio Reyes converted a penalty late in the first half to equalise. Derlei, a 27th-minute substitute after Hélder Postiga picked up a knock, restored the Sporting lead not long after the break.

Clincher
Bruno Pereirinha hit the crossbar for the home side before crossing for Liedson to put the game beyond Benfica with an 83rd-minute header, his tenth in 12 games against Sporting's neighbours. Despite substitute Óscar Cardozo's last-gasp goal for the visitors, Sporting held on for a morale-boosting win ahead of the UEFA Champions League visit of FC Bayern München on Wednesday. In the other Saturday game Rio Ave FC moved off the bottom as they beat Vitória FC 1-0 to leapfrog their opponents and three other teams into 12th.

Abidal adds to Barça concerns

FC Barcelona could be without left-back Eric Abidal for up to eight weeks after the defender suffered a tear in his right thigh during the Liga leaders' 2-1 derby loss at home to RCD Espanyol.

Defensive loss
The French international collided with opposition defender Sergio Sánchez in the 24th minute of the Camp Nou encounter on Saturday night and was immediately replaced by Carles Puyol, who was making his return from a thigh problem. Abidal – who has made 19 league starts this season – will undergo further tests in the next few days. The news will come as a further blow to Barcelona, who suffered their first league defeat since 31 August against Espanyol and have already lost Andrés Iniesta to a thigh strain ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Champions League first knockout round first leg trip to Olympique Lyonnais.

Inter leave it late to better Bologna

A sweetly-struck free-kick from substitute Mario Balotelli just moments after coming on clinched all three points for runaway Serie A leaders FC Internazionale Milano at Bologna FC.

Late winner
Having fielded a virtually full-strength side, despite Tuesday's visit of holders Manchester United FC in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round, José Mourinho's men took the lead early in the second period through midfielder Esteban Cambiasso. The home side drew level on 79 minutes via the head of defender Miguel Ángel Britos, only for Balotelli's decisive intervention with just nine minutes left on the clock.

Trezeguet delight
Inter remain nine points clear of second-placed Juventus, who won 2-0 at US Città di Palermo. Former Juve striker Fabrizio Miccoli hit the woodwork early on but Mohamed Sissoko's powerful shot broke the deadlock not long before the half-hour and eleven minutes from time David Trezeguet's flick deflected in off Simon Kjær to mark the forward's first Serie A start of the season after surgery on both knees.

Roma victory
Juventus visit Chelsea FC on Wednesday, and the night before AS Roma go to Arsenal FC fresh from today's 1-0 defeat of AC Siena. Rodrigo Taddei's 63rd-minute goal was enough to take Roma ahead of ACF Fiorentina and Genoa CFC into fourth, at least before Sunday's fixture programme, while Siena remain seven points clear of the relegation zone, four ahead of Bologna.

Iván De la Peña scored twice to give RCD Espanyol a shock 2-1 success at Camp Nou and end former club FC Barcelona's 22-game unbeaten Liga run. Real Madrid CF are now seven points behind leaders Barça after overwhelming Real Betis Balompié 6-1, all the goals coming in the first half.

Espanyol off bottom
De la Peña came up the youth ranks at Barcelona and made more than 100 appearances over two spells with the club. It was for a foul on De la Peña that Barcelona lost Seydou Keita to a red card late in the first half and in the first ten minutes of the second period the 32-year-old headed Espanyol in front before producing a superb chip to double the lead. Yaya Touré pulled one back with 27 minutes left but Barcelona, up against Olympique Lyonnais on Tuesday, suffered their first league loss since the opening-day reverse at CD Numancia. That club are now bottom behind Espanyol, whose previous Liga away win was on 14 September.

Madrid cut loose
Madrid have closed the gap at the top after an extraordinary first half against a Betis team that held Barcelona 2-2 a week ago. Gonzalo Higuaín made it 1-0 early on and Klaas Jan Huntelaar added further goals on 15 and 24 minutes. Ricardo Oliveira pulled one back on the half-hour but Raúl González struck in the 36th and 42nd minutes to become Madrid's outright all-time leading Liga scorer, and Sergio Ramos claimed the sixth just prior to the interval. His side will hope to reproduce that form on Wednesday against Liverpool FC after their ninth straight Liga win, their best run since 1985/86.

Villarreal victory
Villarreal CF, facing Panathinaikos FC the same night, recovered from conceding a first-minute Mate Bilić goal to defeat Real Sporting de Gijón 2-1. Robert Pirès only took seconds to equalise and Joan Capdevila's 36th-minute strike ensured Villarreal stayed three points behind third-placed Sevilla FC, who kept up their run of late goals with a 87th-minute Jesús Navas strike for a 1-0 win against Club Atlético de Madrid, who take on FC Porto on Tuesday.

Guus Hiddink made a winning start to his temporary role as Chelsea FC manager after Nicolas Anelka's 19th-minute goal gave them a 1-0 victory at Aston Villa FC but his Russia charge Andrei Arshavin was frustrated as his Arsenal FC debut ended in a 0-0 draw with Sunderland AFC while Cristiano Ronaldo ensured leaders Manchester United FC defeated Blackburn Rovers FC 2-1 for a tenth straight Premier League success.

Anelka strike
Chelsea needed three points to move ahead of Villa into third place but were facing a side unbeaten in 13 league games. Anelka, paired with Didier Drogba by Hiddink, ran on to a subtle Frank Lampard pass before lofting the ball past Brad Friedel to take his league-leading goal tally to 15. Ashley Young hit the underside of the crossbar with a free-kick for Villa late in the first half and they threatened after the break, but Chelsea held on to stay within ten points of United.

United prevail
Resting record-breaking goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar in view of midweek UEFA Champions League commitments, United led on 23 minutes through Wayne Rooney but just past the half-hour Roque Santa Cruz became the first player to strike against Sir Alex Ferguson's side in the league since 8 November. However, Blackburn remain in the bottom three thanks to Ronaldo's neat free-kick on the hour which took United eight points ahead of Liverpool FC, who play Manchester City FC on Sunday, when Fulham FC face bottom side West Bromwich Albion FC and Newcastle United FC take on Everton FC.

Arsenal held
Arsenal are five points adrift of fourth-placed Villa after drawing a blank at home to Sunderland despite fielding Arshavin for the first time since his signing from FC Zenit St. Petersburg. Middlesbrough FC remain second from bottom after their winless league run stretched to 14 games with a 0-0 draw against Wigan Athletic FC. Stoke City FC moved two points ahead of Blackburn though they conceded a last-minute Ryan Shawcross own goal to finish 2-2 against Portsmouth FC. Bolton Wanderers FC moved away from danger by defeating West Ham United FC 2-1.

Olympique Lyonnais continued their march towards an eighth consecutive Ligue 1 title with a 2-0 away win at AS Nancy-Lorraine that increased their lead to six points after closest challengers Paris Saint-Germain FC drew 0-0 at Grenoble Foot 38.

Lyon success
Despite resting several key players, Lyon led on 19 minutes when Cris turned in at the far post after Jean-Alain Boumsong's flick-on and after Hugo Lloris saved a Youssouf Hadji penalty for Nancy early in the second half, Karim Benzema made sure of victory in added time. PSG, however, could find no way past a stubborn Grenoble and on Sunday could be overtaken by Olympique de Marseille and FC Girondins de Bordeaux, who meet struggling Le Mans UC 72 and AS Saint-Etienne respectively.

Toulouse held
Toulouse FC could have gone above PSG but were themselves held 0-0 at home against lowly Valenciennes FC. That side remain just above the relegation zone while FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, second from bottom, came from behind to beat FC Lorient 2-1 thanks to Mevlüt Erdinç's 90th-minute winner. There was no upturn in fortunes for Le Havre AC, however, who remain well adrift at the foot of the standings after a 2-1 home defeat by AJ Auxerre. Valter Birsa scored the decider for the visitors with 12 minutes remaining.

Strugglers draw
FC Nantes and SM Caen remain just two and four points respectively ahead of third-bottom AS Saint-Etienne follwing a 1-1 draw while in the late game Stade Rennais FC are sixth after a 1-0 win at OGC Nice thanks to Olivier Thomert's goal. LOSC Lille Métropole, now seventh, will aim to close the gap on the leaders when they welcome AS Monaco FC on Sunday.

NEVER FORGET THAT THE ONLY GUIDE IS THE QUR'AN

Alif Lam Ra. This is a Book We have sent down to you so that you can bring mankind from the darkness to the light, by the permission of their Lord, to the Path of the Almighty, the Praiseworthy. (Surah Ibrahim: 1)

Allah sent down the Qur'an for people to reflect upon, so that they can know that He is the only God, to learn how to worship Him, and to become heedful. The Qur'an, our only guide, provides us with explanations for everything we need, shows us the path which pleases Allah, and gives the good news of the great consequences of surrendering as a servant to Him:

...We have sent down the Book to you making all things clear and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims. (Surat an-Nahl: 89)

The Qur'an is the book in truth Allah sent to His servants. It is an admonition, a healing and a mercy for believers. Believers who can grasp this important reality reflect deeply on every verse of the Qur'an, and spend all their lives in compliance with it. The answer of any question they seek is provided by the Qur'an:

We have brought them a Book elucidating everything with knowledge, as guidance and a mercy for people who believe. (Surat al-A'raf: 52)

Since the Qur'an explains everything relevant to being a servant to Allah, man is responsible for living by the Qur'an, observing its limits and complying with its commands. On the Day of Reckoning, people will be questioned based on this book alone. Therefore, never forget that the way you conduct yourself, your thoughts and decisions, in brief, your entire way of life, should be in compliance only with the Qur'an, and not with what the majority of people want. Living by the Qur'an is the unique way to salvation.

Moreover, it is necessary to read and comprehend the Qur'an in order to live by the religion revealed in it, even though those around you may be far from complying with it. The majority of people might have never read the Qur'an. Among those who are familiar with the Qur'an, on the other hand, there may be those who only memorize verses in Arabic without reflecting on their meaning. They may even consider the Qur'an as a kind of amulet (Surely Allah is beyond all that which they falsely ascribe to Him) and thus keep it on the upper shelves of closets. But if what you want to accomplish is salvation, you need to comply with Allah's commands, not those of the majority of people. You need to read the admonitions sent down by Allah and know by heart His commands. The reason why the Qur'an was revealed is made clear in the following verses:

This is a communication to be transmitted to mankind so that they may be warned by it and so that they will know that He is One God and so that people of intelligence will pay heed. (Surah Ibrahim: 52)

It is a Book We have sent down to you, full of blessing, so let people of intelligence ponder its Signs and take heed. (Surah Sâd: 29)

As is seen in the above quoted verses, Allah informs us that only the people of intelligence, who have the faith described in the Qur'an, can take heed. And remember that the Qur'an is made easy for us to reflect and take advice:

"Am I to desire someone other than Allah as a judge when it is He Who has sent down the Book to you clarifying everything?" Those We have given the Book know it has been sent down from your Lord with truth, so on no account be among the doubters. (Surat al-An'am: 114)

In this way We have sent it down as Clear Signs. Allah guides anyone He wills. (Surat al-Hajj: 16)

Aside from that stated in these verses, there is yet another fact we need to keep in mind: the Qur'an is a guide for believers whereas it may misguide disbelievers. Those who do not believe that they will be gathered in the presence of their Lord on the Day of Judgment and that the Qur'an is the book in truth sent by the Lord, fail to grasp the divine purpose of its verses. They remain deaf and blind towards them. This condition is related in the Qur'an as follows:

When you recite the Qur'an, We place an obscuring veil between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter. We have placed covers on their hearts, preventing them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears. When you mention your Lord alone in the Qur'an, they turn their backs and run away. (Surat al-Isra': 45-46)

Undoubtedly, this attitude of the disbelievers results from their insincerity and their inclination to follow their whims and desires. Examples of this inherent lack of understanding among the disbelievers are as follows:

We have only appointed angels as masters of the Fire and We have only specified their number as a trial for those who are disbelievers; so that those who were given the Book might gain in certainty, and those who believe might increase in their faith, and both those who were given the Book and the believers might have no doubt; and so that those with sickness in their hearts and the disbelievers might say, "What did Allah intend by this example?" In this way Allah misguides those He wills and guides those He wills. No one knows the legions of your Lord but Him. This is nothing but a reminder to all human beings. (Surat al-Muddaththir: 31)

Believers, on the other hand, are of an entirely different state of mind. As soon as they hear Allah's verses, they conform to this most beautiful message, and thus, attain salvation both in this world and beyond. The attitude typical of a believer towards Allah's signs is related in the Qur'an as follows:

Allah has sent down the Supreme Discourse, a Book consistent in its frequent repetitions. The skins of those who fear their Lord tremble at it and then their skins and hearts yield softly to the remembrance of Allah. That is Allah's guidance by which He guides whoever He wills. And no one can guide those whom Allah misguides. (Surat az-Zumar: 23)

Never forget that, if you really fear Allah, your heart should soften when you listen to His verses. That is because Allah has informed us that believers with sincere faith will have the faculty to grasp the Qur'an as the book in truth. Only disbelievers harbour doubts about its justness:

…and so that those who have been given knowledge will know it is the truth from their Lord and believe in it and their hearts will be humbled to Him. Allah guides those who believe to a straight path. But those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt of it until the Hour comes on them suddenly or the punishment of a desolate Day arrives. (Surat al-Hajj: 54-55)

Never forget that you will also be judged according to the Qur'an on the Day of Judgment. Allah reveals this truth in the following verse;

So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are on a straight path. It is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will be questioned. (Surat az-Zukhruf: 43-44)

That the majority of people are far removed from the Qur'an, and that they have almost abandoned it, should not deceive you. That is because, as people regard a lifespan of 60-70 yea

THE KEY TO FAITHFULNESS: LOVE AND FEAR OF ALLAH Love Of Allah

One can be faithful to another person, and devote his entire life to his or her needs and desires, only if he feels a strong and sincere love for that person. Therefore, those whose bond of love is false can never experience the meaning of true faithfulness. It is important to notice here that, even if certain relationships are bound in love, those involved are far from understanding the true meaning of faithfulness and love that Allah describes in the Qur'an, because their bond is formed on criteria established by those ignorant of the morality of the Qur'an.

A person can experience real love and devotion only when be comes to believe and grasp the greatness of Allah. Basically, a person must feel sincere love and faithfulness towards our Lord Allah. Those who experience these deep feelings for Allah will also experience a deep sense of love for those who are also practicing the kind of morality that is pleasing to Him. Therefore, real love can be experienced only among those who fear Allah and feel a true love and respect towards Him. The way disbelievers understand love, however, is based instead on a number of humanly-devised values, and is far from experiencing the depth and integrity of that of believers.

Believers and disbelievers are poles apart in their understanding of faithfulness. As Allah says in the Qur'an, "They do not measure Allah with His true measure. Allah is All-Strong, Almighty." (Surat al-Hajj, 74), disbelievers cannot form a bond with Allah, because they cannot sufficiently understand His power and majesty, or the mercy He shows towards human beings. All those who fail to bind themselves to Him in love and faithfulness cannot be truly faithful towards others, nor can others be faithful to them. Therefore, in order for there to be a strong sense of faithfulness, there must be a strong sense of love towards Allah. And so, the only ones who can feel this strong love towards Allah are believers. In the Qur'an, Allah tells us about this characteristic of the believers:

… But those who believe have greater love for Allah… (Surat al-Baqara, 165)

There are many reasons at work to allow believers to possess a strong sense of faithfulness and submission towards Allah. As Allah says in the verse, "Say: 'Praise be to Allah. He will show you His Signs and you will recognize them.' Your Lord is not unaware of what you do." (Surat an-Naml, 93), believers are those who recognize Allah's help, protection and mercy during the events that occur in their lives. As Allah explains in the Qur'an, in order to strengthen their hearts, and increase their love and devotion to Him, He has promised to show them that everything they experience within themselves, and in the outside world, is "truth." The above verse informs us that believers behave with the knowledge that everything that happens to them in the course of their lives occurs in accordance with the promise Allah has made to them. Their faith, love and consequent submission and faithfulness continually increase. They know that Allah is the constant friend and helper of believers, and that He answers all their prayers, and so do their best to win His favor with zeal and enthusiasm. No matter what happens to them, their devotion and faithfulness towards Him never diminish; in order to please Him, they are patient, and submit to Him in difficult times; He is their advocate and they take refuge in Him. This is one of the foremost proofs of the real strength of a believer's faithfulness. In the Qur'an, Allah tells us that believers have a strong sense of devotion and submission to Him:

"… the poor of the emigrants who were driven from their homes and wealth desiring the favor and the pleasure of Allah and supporting Allah and His Messenger. Such people are the truly sincere."(Surat al-Hashr, 8)

Believers, who have a strong sense of love and faithfulness towards Allah, also show sincere love, respect and faithfulness to the messengers He has sent to be their guides. The source of this devotion is the love and faithfulness they feel towards Allah.

Explaining that love towards Allah will also give rise to sincere devotion and submission to Him, prophets called people to establish a sincere bond of love with Allah:

Say, "If you love Allah, then follow me and Allah will love you and forgive you for your wrong actions. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Surah Al 'Imran, 31)

Because they have a sincere sense of love towards Allah and His messengers, believers are determined to live according to the moral teachings of the Qur'an, and take great pleasure in doing so.

Fear Of Allah

Love towards Allah is a very important part of faithfulness, but it is not enough in itself. There must also be a sense of fear towards Him. Fear of Allah aids believers to be meticulous in obeying His commands and prohibitions, to avoid behavior that will not please Him, and to exercise "will-power" against the intimations of Satan and their lower-selves.

Human beings were created weak. Allah tells us this in the Qur'an:

"Allah desires to make things lighter for you. Man was created weak."(Surat an-Nisa', 28)

The voice of our lower-selves and that of Satan continually urge us towards evil. Great determination or will-power is needed in order not to become entangled up in these satanic intimations. So, fear of Allah renders a person's sense of determination firm. In the Qur'an, Allah commands believers to fear Him:

You who believe! Fear Allah and let each self look to what it has sent forward for Tomorrow. Have fear of Allah. Allah is aware of what you do. (Surat al-Hashr, 18)

Fear of Allah urges an individual to try to live every moment of his life in a way that would please Allah, and to be awake to the desires of Satan and his own inner-self, and to be alert and prepared for the tricks and games that they play. This will vitiate the deceit of Satan and the inner voice of the lower-self that want to get him to do their unbounded will.

For this reason, Satan and the inner voice of the ego are particularly interested in removing the fear of Allah from people. They want to prevent them from fearing Allah by false intimations, such as that, "the most important thing is to have a pure heart". However, a person who has read the Qur'an is aware that these kinds of satanic intimations have no validity; he will easily see that their purpose is to deceive and lead people astray. In the Qur'an, Allah has commanded believers to fear Him. This command appears in many verses, for example:

Fear Allah and know that Allah is fierce in retribution. (Surat al-Baqara, 196)

So fear Allah. And know that you will be gathered back to Him. (Surat al-Baqara, 203)

Fear of Allah allows a believer to be devoted to Him with a deep sense of faithfulness. Their desire to earn Allah's love and good pleasure, as best as they can, or otherwise the possibility of meeting His torment, makes the faithfulness of believers profound.

INTRODUCTION

Various circles regard the theory of evolution as ideologically indispensible. From the day it was first proposed right up to the present, they have defended it by means of intense propaganda. Certain scientific publications, schools and a number of media organs portray it as a proven fact in terms of the origin of life. Since some scientists espouse the theory of evolution with the greatest devotion, most people imagine that the theory is scientifically valid.

Charles Darwin

In fact, however, over the last 150 years the theory of evolution has been totally discredited by such branches of science as paleontology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry and biophysics. Countless findings revealed by these different branches make it obvious that evolution never happened.

Anyone reading this book may well naturally conclude that the adherents of the theory of evolution are scientists. Yet since those who find evidence that the theory of evolution is invalid are also scientists, therefore scientists must be divided into two groups: those who support evolution, and others who present evidence disproving it.

Yet this does not fully represent the true picture—because the proponents of the theory of evolution have no evidence that it ever took place. And with their own efforts, they even discover evidence that discredits their theory.

No doubt, it is a most contradictory and dishonest to strongly defend a theory while the evidence totally demolishes it. Yet that is exactly their current position.
Indeed, ever since the theory of evolution was first put forward, no scientist espoused because of the scientific evidence. What, then, is evolutionists’ aim? And what can explain their inconsistent mindset?

The British zoologist D. M. S. Watson, himself an evolutionist, supplies the answer to those questions:

The theory of evolution (is) a theory universally accepted not because it can be proved by logically coherent evidence to be true but because the only alternative, special creation is clearly incredible.1

This idea of Watson’s is shared by scientists who espouse the theory of evolution. These others are well aware that no evidence proves the theory, but if they abandoned the theory of evolution, they would have to admit the existence of a Creator. Such a thing is unacceptable for proponents of materialist ideology, which we will be examining in due course.

However, the great majority of people, being unaware of this, imagine that those scientists who support evolution have worked along exceedingly scientific lines, with methods based solely on experiment and observation. Therefore, they believe every word those scientists say, feeling no need to investigate any further.

  1. And by doing so, they commit a serious error. As their own admissions show, evolutionists espouse their theory in violation of science. They present evolution as the scientific foundation of the ideology they insist on, which is materialism.

Materialist philosophy regards matter as absolute. According to that definition, matter has existed forever, and everything that exists consists of matter alone. As that logic requires, materialism has opposed belief in Allah (God) and the true religions ever since the most ancient times.

Yet when examined, materialism emerges as a philosophy devoid of any scientific evidence, and one incompatible with the truth.

The way to test the truth of any philosophy is through investigating that philosophy’s claims regarding science. Using scientific methodology, we can investigate the claim of materialism. We can investigate whether or not matter has always existed, whether atoms and molecules can organize themselves in the absence of a super-material Creator, and whether or not they can give rise to life. When we do so, we see that materialism has effectively collapsed.

The idea that matter has existed for all time was demolished by the Big Bang theory, which indicated that the universe came into being from nothing. The claim that matter can organize itself-is essentially what we refer to as the—whose invalidity was made crystal clear by the scientific discoveries during the 20th century.

Yet contemporary materialists do not follow such a rational and scientific course. They have conditioned themselves never to abandon their materialist beliefs, no matter what the cost. These people are materialists first, scientists second. They refuse to abandon their belief in evolution, even though they clearly see that even their own experiments and research refute it. Instead, they try to keep materialism alive by supporting evolution in any way necessary.

Richard Lewontin, a well-known geneticist and evolutionist from Harvard University, confesses that he is a materialist first, and a scientist second:

It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is absolute, so we cannot allow a Divine [intervention]… 2

The philosophical term “a priori” that Lewontin uses here is highly significant. Latin for “from the beginning,” it refers to any root assumption accepted as a given. If you believe in the truth of an idea without question and assume it to be accurate, then that idea is a priori. This is how evolutionists seek to adapt science to their own preconceptions. Since materialists absolutely reject the existence of a Creator, their only alternative is to cling tightly to the theory of evolution.

The materialist dogma underlying the evolutionist propaganda in prominent Western media organs and well-known scientific journals is the result of this kind of ideological and philosophical requirements. Since ideology makes abandoning of the theory of evolution impossible, questioning Darwinism has been declared taboo by those materialists who determine scientific standards.

This book is confessions about the theory of evolution made by scientists who espouse the theory for the sake of their materialist ideologies. As we made clear at the start of this chapter, the very scientists who support the theory of evolution also discover the evidence that demolishes it. And generally, these scientists confess that as a result of research in their own specialized fields:

* No such process as evolution could ever have taken place,
* T he theory of evolution has not been proven,
*The theory is espoused essentially for ideological reasons, and that
*The entire universe must be the work of an Omniscient Creator.

You can come across similar confessions in practically every book, academic study or lecture concerning evolution—for two reasons: First, when people do all they can to conceal an obvious fact, even resorting to lies and fraud in order to do so, still they will leave obvious clues behind them. Whenever they speak, they will unwittingly make open or implied confessions indicating the dilemma in which they find themselves. Indeed, all evolutionists—beginning with Charles Darwin, who first proposed the theory—make such confessions abundantly in all their books and lectures.

The facts of creation and the existence of a sublime Creator are perfectly obvious. No matter how unwilling people may be to accept the fact, if they possess even a small amount of rational thought, they will see around them, in all places and at all times, evidence of the existence of Allah (God), the Creator of all things. Yet these scientists have perhaps the very closest familiarity with the evidence of Allah’s creation in the world. None who study the complex structure of the cell and is astounded by the flawless characteristics, extraordinary planning, and amazing intelligence inside, can avoid expressing their feelings in the face of the miracles of Allah’s creation. Albeit for a brief moment, they will act according to the voices of their conscience and common sense.

One example of this is Francis Crick, a non-resident Fellow of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies before he died on 28 July 2004, who discovered DNA. In the face of the DNA’s extraordinary complexity, Crick was forced to admit that the origin of life cannot be explained in terms of chance. Despite being a convinced evolutionist, Crick had to admit what was apparent after he witnessed the miraculous structure of DNA:

An honest man, armed with all the knowledge available to us now, could only state that, in some sense, the origin of life appears at the moment to be almost a miracle. 3

Having read these confessions, you might well imagine that these people had admitted the scientific facts with all sincerity and finally come to believe in the existence of Allah, as good conscience and reason demand.

However, no matter how much some scientists have seen the truth, the stirrings of their consciences have been very short-lived. They have never countenanced abandoning their ideology, but have continued in their denial despite the voice of their consciences.

Not only has our century witnessed people who, despite seeing the truth, refuse to abandon superstitious beliefs, because of their devotion to materialist dogma. People with such mindsets have existed at all times. The dialogues between materialists and Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) in the Qur’an inform us of this. The materialists in his time worshipped idols that they had made with their own hands, adopting them as their deities. They claimed that certain effigies they themselves had created, which actually have no power to do anything, were in fact the creators, regulators, and lords of the entire universe.

You might imagine that such paganism is a feature of only ancient times, yet the logic of 21st century deniers is exactly the same. They too maintain that unconscious atoms and random events, with no ability to do anything, actually created the flawlessly ordered universe and the life within it. Absolutely nothing has changed in the mindset of denial.

In his time, too, the Prophet Abraham (pbuh) employed various means to show people how irrational and illogical their beliefs were. And they then saw how corrupt their earlier beliefs had been and admitted they had been despotic.

They said, “Did you do this to our deities, Abraham?” He said, “No, this one, the biggest of them, did it. Ask them if they are able to speak!” They consulted among themselves and said, “It is you yourselves who are wrongdoers.” (Surat; al-Anbiya’, 62-64)

However, these stirrings of their consciences were only short-lived, and they soon returned to their corrupt ways:

But then they relapsed back into their disbelief: “You know full well these idols cannot talk.” He said, “Do you then worship, instead of Allah, what cannot help or harm you in any way? Shame on you and what you worship besides Allah! Will you not use your intellect?” (Surat al-Anbiya’, 65-67)

We regard the evaluation of evolutionists’ own confessions as exceedingly useful to better understand this mindset described in the Qur’an 1,400 years ago. Any rational person of good conscience reading these confessions will inevitably wonder since they admit the theory is wrong, why do they still support it?

As has already been made clear, they believe in the theory because that is what their ideology demands. Otherwise they know they would need to admit the existence of Allah. Nor is this particular to our century alone. The Qur’an tells us that although their hearts realized the truth, some ignored the true facts because of their feelings of pride and arrogance, and still denied the existence of Allah:

And they repudiated them wrongly and haughtily, in spite of their own certainty about them. See the final fate of the corrupters. (Surat an-Naml, 14)

Muslims, Christians and Jews Will Live as Friends in Jerusalem in the Time of Hadhrat Mahdi - 17.11.2008 Palestine/Daily Al-Quds (Jerusalem)

The Arabic-language daily Al-Quds (Jerusalem), the most popular paper in Palestine and those parts of Israel populated by Palestinians, carried a report on 17 November 2008 titled “Turkish Thinker and Scholar Adnan Oktar: Jerusalem Will Soon Belong to Muslims” over an interview conducted with Adnan Oktar in Istanbul. (Click here to watch the interview.) During the interview, in which he described what needed to be done for the conflict and suffering in Palestine to come to an end, Adnan Oktar issued significant messages, both warnings and of welcome news, for the Palestinian people. Some extracts from the interview read as follows:
"Resistance through faith, culture, knowledge and maturity is one of the greatest weapons in the world; much more effective than the atom bomb, incomparably more; a powerful bond of love and affection, a conception of compassion and profound knowledge will attract support from the entire world; but ignorance and violence will attract global revulsion. I am telling you now the goods news that the Palestinian problem will be totally resolved through prayer, strong, loving devotion to Allah and powerful fear of Him.”

"We are told in the hadiths there will be a time of discord, followed by union. That will be in the time of the Mahdi; Muslims must seek the Mahdi. Muslims must trust the words of our Prophet (saas)… If suffering people want ease and peace, they must trust in the Prophet’s (saas) promise, seek the Mahdi and feel a profound love for the Mahdi, they must feel a deep respect for the Prophet Jesus, and anticipate his coming and pray for it. They must keep a close watch on the signs of the End Times, and do all in their power to spread Islam and Islamic moral values in the meantime, to eliminate Darwinism and materialism on the intellectual plane; in other words, a cultural and intellectual struggle is vitally and crucially important.”

"Jerusalem will eventually belong to Muslims, and I say that on the basis of the hadiths of our Prophet (saas). When the Mahdi comes and the Prophet Jesus returns, Jerusalem and the whole region from top to bottom will be filled with Muslims, insha’Allah. There will also be our Jewish brothers, and Christians, too; but Muslims will enjoy a spiritual leadership there, insha’Allah. They will live there as friends and brothers, insha’Allah.”

THE FEATURES OF HAZRAT MAHDI'S (AS) CAR

Hazrat Mahdi (as) is moderate of virtue and excellent of creation... HIS STEED WILL SHINE LIKE A FULL MOON. HE [HAZRAT MAHDI (AS)] WILL GO AT THE HEAD OF THE MOST AUSPICIOUS COMMUNITY. They are enfolded by Allah’s religion; they will seek to approach Allah with him...

(Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Nomani, al-Ghaybah al-Nomani, p. 171)

The hadith sugests that “cars” will be one of the technical vehicles available in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as), and that these will have headlights and interior lighting. It appears from the information provided in the hadith that the headlights of Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) car will also shine brightly.

The words “He will go at the head of the most auspicious community” indicate that Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) car will be at the head of a convoy consisting of his own students.

Alternatively, the term “he will go at the head” may refer to Hazrat Mahdi (as) being seated at the front of this vehicle.

Aban ibn Taglib says: I heard Imam Jaffari Sadik say: “It is as if I see the Qaim [Hazrat Mahdi (as)] at Najaf in Qufa......HE [HAZRAT MAHDI (AS)] WILL THEN MOUNT ON A BLACK AND WHITE STEED WITH THE SPACE BETWEEN HIS EYES SHINING LIKE A LIGHT...”

This hadith indicates two headlights on the two sides of the car and that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will use black and light-colored cars.

AERODYNAMIC FORCES AND THE FLIGHT PROGRAMMED IN BIRDS

Do they not see the birds suspended in mid-air up in the sky? Nothing holds them there except Allah. There are certainly signs in that for people who believe. (Surat an-Nahl, 79)

Due to the force of gravity, all bodies left in the air will eventually fall to earth, either fast or slowly. Everything, living or otherwise, is subject to gravity. But as a miracle of Allah (God) birds are able to resist this force and fly upward and downward in the air. They maneuver in the air, and sometimes even fold their wings and glide through it. All details in birds, from their feathers to their lungs, from the arrangement of their feathers to the shape of their wings, are equipped with a special feature and order intended to enable them to fly. A chick totally unaware of the act of flight and the laws of aerodynamics is born with the ability to fly. The chick launches itself downwards and begins to fly, just as if it knew its body was created for flight. This is not information that is taught subsequently or that a bird learns by trial and error. The way a bird knows it has the body structure needed to fly, finds the courage to launch itself into the air and then flies without hitting the ground all happens through Allah’s inspiration.

The Arabic word “yumsikuhunna” translated as “holds” in verse 79 of Surat an-Nahl means “not letting them go, taking them, catching them, or holding them.” The word is the present tense of the verse “amsaka,” meaning “to catch with the hand, hold and pull back.” With this word, our Almighty Lord reveals that He holds the bird in the air and that it flies by His command. Bird flight is still the subject of wide-ranging research by scientists. Having observed the perfection in bird flight, scientists use the avian body and avian flight as direct models in producing such vehicle as airplanes and jets.

Verse 79 of Surat an-Nahl may in one way be indicating the way that birds comply with the aerodynamic laws created by Allah as they fly. (Allah knows the truth.) The science of aerodynamics studies the behavior of solid bodies in a fluid environment such as air. For example, as a plane moves through the air, various forces emerge that affect that movement. In order for the plane to move as planned and not to run into any unexpected forces or resistance, the plane is tested beforehand against the resistance exhibited by the air. Its movement is planned as a result of lengthy calculations, measurements and experiments.

The way that birds comply with the principles of aerodynamics continues to astonish scientists. Using no form of trial and error, they cope with the laws of aerodynamics in the most perfect manner. The use of the word " musakhkharatin" (suspended) in the verse to describe bird flight is exceedingly wise. Because it suggests that they have been “encouraged to a specific end, have had to do something, have submitted or bowed their heads, have bound themselves to Allah or have submitted to His laws”. In that way, the verse may be indicating the way that aerodynamic laws have a determining influence on bird flight. (Allah knows the truth.)

At first sight there would appear to be nothing to make it difficult for birds to fly. But according to aerodynamics, any object flying in the air is subject to various different forces. The best-known of these are gravity, propulsion, drag and lift. In order for meaningful flight to take place, these forces have to be balanced. For example, if gravity is stronger than the other forces, the bird will fall to earth. That is why the word in the verse is the best possible expression of birds’ condition as they are subjected to these forces. The presence in the Qur’an of expressions containing such information at a time when no science of aerodynamics or mechanics existed, once again reveals that the Qur’an is a divine text.
